Stanwell with Damaged Horn on Shank
Update: The pipe arrived this afternoon. Just spent a few hours cleaning it up. I tried the epoxy putty to fill in the missing chunks of horn. I wish I had been a little tidier about it, but it sanded down pretty smooth and flush with the horn. Doesn't look *too* bad. Also had to tighten...- cunninghampm

Hi all, I just won an eBay auction for a Stanwell pipe that I only half-remembered bidding on. I hadn't noticed til I won, but it's got some pretty bad chips in the white horn around the shank. Tried my first bowl of C&D John Marr in my Savenelli Arcoboleno. Nice blend: toffee-like topping comes through up front, but stops well short of being cloying. The tobacco itself - VaPer and Cavendish - becomes more pronounced on the back half. Burns pretty cool with minimal relights. Happy to...- cunninghampm
