I am sorry Bubba for not responding to you. I did not see your post. I hope that you chose to not order the first pipe out of your own free will and not my decision to honor my mother. I won't have the funds to buy a pipe like that for a while and I can order it anywhere. That is a beautiful pipe I like the birds eye on the bowl. (I believe that is what it is called).

I have also just bought an estate Barling T.V.F. 5109 from a guy in California. So I guess the pipe is coming home after it's extensive tour of the United States!!! Photo's to follow when it arrives.

Boston, I see the appeal. It is quite unique and a compelling. The rustication is very interesting as is the concave rim. It is reminiscent of an old style clay pipe, yet modern and sophisticated. It also looks very comfortable in the hand. I totally get the PAD on this one. Excellent acquisition. The only thing I don't get is the (seemingly) recent European desire/trend for filters in their pipes. Even this year's World Slow Smoking Championship pipe has a filter in it. What's the appeal there?

My own contribution to the PAD thread is this lovely Acorn/pickaxe from German Maker Vauen. Its the Vauen Vesuv line, and while a little out of my usual price range, it was so unique and attractive (to me) that I had to get it. I took a bunch of pics, but this is the quick and easy way to get a pic up. Well guys, my DA is in the nursing home for A few days rehab, kind on lonesome around here, so this morning I read and looked at all 20 pages of this thread. My pad is raging, I did not see A pipe I didn't like and some of them were down right beautiful. You guys have lots of style and are all good shoppers, Happy smoking

The wife and I were looking for a coat rack and stumbled along a junk dealer. As we were looking around he asked if we needed help and told him I was looking for a coat rack. He pulled it out and I noticed it sitting on a shelf so I asked how much. he wanted 30 for the rack and I had 3 dollars cash left so he told me to give him the 3 and I can have the rack and the pipes. I gave him a chance and asked if he was sure cause I could hit a ATM and grab some more and he said no worries. All in all it was good luck.

That's pretty neat for $3, Duncan. I've never seen a case quite like that and it looks like it might have been a store display.

Probably A Pioneer Block meerschaum the P is similar but definitely different if you look closely.
