KBV Old Chicago and Other New Stuff

KBV blends are solid across the board. Ive really been impressed with the quality overall. Ive found Night Mare to be a really good blend. Night Mare is listed as a straight Virginia with condimental Rustica. I find it has a little Perique-esque pepper on the retro, which I assume is...

Yeah its a not a big deal, its just funny to see a pipe with Pipe of the Year 2021 stamped on the briar with a 2020 hallmark. I reached out to Peterson to have a the 2021 cap put on the pipe, but I thought this is unique so I dont plan to have it corrected.

The color fade gives the pipe a more realistic alligator looks. Nice pipe.

I love my 677. It’s a great smoker but not a clencher due to the weight. I went with the green finish because I thought if I was going for a “alligator” pipe I’m going all the way.

    Where to Go from Aromatics?

I’d suggest Virginia based blends. Virginias were the next step for me after aromatics. I still like aromatics but I’ve grown to love all the nuances of Virginias.

Im +1 for the 1971. That mark looks like the stem on the "d" was over buffed/worn. The hallmark for the "d" looks more italicized compared toe the "o" according to this chart, which would lend to a 1971 hallmark.

Great looking pipe. The .925 stamp started in 2003 if Im not mistaken.

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

The odd thing is I ordered 2 from the same seller. They pictured the meer specifically but not the Peterson Star that purchased as well. Here to hoping at least one pipe with show up.
