Suddenly Lost my Taste for Pipe Tobacco

I've experienced something similar. My vote is for simple palate fatigue. A short time away may be all that's needed.

    Is This Normal?

I don't know exactly what it is about them, but as a generality, I find the Sutliff crumble cakes to provide a little something "extra", more full, a better mouth-feel of some kind. I wish I knew exactly what it was so I could seek it better... There may be something like that going on for you...

There's Nothing Like a Good Hard Shag

Yes, and I swear that the (older?) versions that I have of the blends show some differences to my eye and palate. But according to the rep who pops up here from time to time, they have all become the same blend... Exactly when that occurred, and whether or not we may still be receiving shipments...

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

I've got the book but haven't studied it yet, only browsed a bit. I'll look into it. Thanks.

Anybody ever seen one of these? It was new to me so I bit...

One of my top 2 or 3... The POTY 2020 might be slightly more favored by myself but I'm grabbing both of them VERY frequently.

There's Nothing Like a Good Hard Shag

I like these. Kendall Kentucky = Kendall Dark = Dark Birds Eye According to Rachel the rep on here, they're all the same now.

    Let’s See Your SPDash

What's scarier is when you hover over it and it tells you the $ amount in each category...

Instant Reaction To Peterson’s Early Morning Pipe

EMP is smooth and easy to me. While on the other hand, Briar Fox just scorched me and it's a big crowd pleaser? Sometimes I don't think it makes any sense based on the individual components, it's rather how the unique "marriage" of the leaf occurred....

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

No one ever accused me of having distinguished taste buds, so when I say this tastes like a a good Carter Hall with Perique, you can either laugh or nod in agreement. But it does seem to be cut similar and packs like a codger blend. In fact, I packed it too loose the first couple of times and...

Up with What are You Lighting ?

Vertigo it looks like to me. I've gone through 1 after about 1 years use, and the piezoelectric ? component seems to have given out? Haven't taken it apart to see if I can fix. I've a 2nd one that is now getting close to the same in use-years and it's still holding on. I think I have 2 more in a...

Any Experience with These Petersons ?

Looks like a place I might be able to ask a Pete question without it being in the wrong thread?? I would like to know when the System Deluxe line was introduced? I have already attempted to look up on as many sites as came up in my search and find nothing. In fact, had some AI (BS) at the top...

Any Experience with These Petersons ?

Reasonable question. I'm interested in seeing replies. But one may do well to distinguish between "quality" and "beauty", as they may very well not be the same.

    Yes but no P-lips.

    Is This Mold?

My vote is no. I'd likely not even have noticed it and probably combusted it already. And my opinion is meaningless in your world.

I see that one has no rustication so mine is even more of a 2nds line... I won't buy more though - I'm really that enamored with the P-lip that I don't intend to purchase anything else for now.

Only one I have of that shape and I'm not sure I've even seen any other ones?

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

    A) It was likely a flaw that needed covering B) I don't mind it personally, I think it was a secondary line. Price was probably reasonable. C) I often prefer a little texture under the fingers D) I don't expect it on higher grade / costlier pipes

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

82s About 4 years ago. One of my earlier pipe acquisitions in the overall scheme of things. I didn't even know it was a Peterson in the beginning - it was just another pipe in a shape I liked. I would prefer a P-lip but it got me on the path. My 2nd was likely a 314.
