As one who used to frequent Chief Catoonah's, the Ridgefield, CT, B&M pipe shop of the late Dick Silverman, I'm asking whether the fate of his many blend recipes is known? There's this (closed) thread from nine years ago, that isn't encouraging. If anyone knows anything more recent I would appreciate hearing from you.
His BBB, Alan's Inspiration, and Princes Street blends are/were top shelf. I have some BBB from 1998 and some more recent. A single tin of Princes Street. And no more than two ounces of Alan's Inspiration. I have small amounts of sundry others, but those are the three I most pine for. (I'm definitely not pining for Pine Mountain Mix though, although I have an ounce or two remaining.)
Chief Catoonah Tobaccos :: General Pipe Smoking Discussion
I was wondering if anyone had any idea if someone will be taking over the blending of the Chief Catoonah tobaccos? I was a big fan of Princess Street Mixture and wondering if it is gone for good. Thanks for any input.
