    Hey Guys,
I know this right out of left field.
But, while I was preparing my lunch today, I wondered if there were other ways to prepare Avocados than the the three ways that I eat them.
    1) quacamole
    2) seasoned in bowl: salt (gasp!), pepper, garlic powder, basil, few drops of red wine vinegar, several drops of Tobasco, few drops of sesame oil, and few drops of lime.
    3) in a sandwich generally the same as "2)" with mayo on white, sometimes with bacon.

When I lived in Florida, I had this couple who would bring me these huge avocados from south Florida near Homestead. That was before Andrew. I hope they faired well.

One more way... in the TRASH! Those things are nasty... However, I have noticed that a lot old "OLD" people eat them... is it because they are soft?

Lawrence... there even good just simply smashed up with salt, pepper, and tobasco then spread on a cracker. There great on a BLT sandwich as well.

Phil you better be careful picking on another man’s food and age… I seem to recall you getting your ass kick by a dinner of Sloppy Joes just the other night.

I have never acquired the taste for Avocados... Something about the “oiliness” of them and the texture...

HOWEVER, I do enjoy Asparagus, especially with cheese sauce... but a little salt will do...

JC, on the “Joe’s” I should have stopped when I discovered how salty they were and noticed the bun was changing colors...

The bad thing about camp food is it’s either fried, fried or boiled... If you eat a salad, that just speeds the process up...

Salisbury steak patties for hamburgers, scrambled eggs that have a layer of artificial butter pooled on them... I think you get the picture...

I have never seen any place screw up a Prime Rib, T-Bone or Brisket like they do here...

We have a place around here that when you order a "rare" prime rib or any other steak it comes to you as well done as shoe leather. "That's the way it's supposed to be served", "No sir we don't serve horseradish." the manager. So there is one other place that can screw up a slice of beef, and do it in ignorance.

Mash em with salt pepper (fresh ground) Tabasco sauce them smear it all on toast with a couple slices of crispy bacon.

If at first you don't succeed you are running about average.

I've done that many a time Arthur, it's good.

What I'm really wondering is if there is a way to cook with them.
    Or, is it even possible.
I go through experimental stretches, when it comes to cooking.
I'm just curious to see if there is a way to use Avocado and Chicken, e.g.
There is a Caribbean dish where the chicken is cooked with lemon juice, and tastes great.
No heat is involved; the acid in the lemons actually cooks the bird. It's really very very good.
I wonder if it's possible to add Avocado to such a dish, and ..... survive.
It wouldn't be like cooking with Cashew shells.

[Edit] Damn had to fix three typos.

Peeled and battered? Please elaborate I'm intrigued.

There was one recipe on Epicurious.com that said you can grill them if cut in half and seeded then some oil on the cut side.

1/4 cup flower and six eggs room temp eggs mix till it looks like elmers glue , room temp taco meat and cheese . De seed avacodo , stuff with meat or just plain cheese and pan fry until golden brown . I use in equal parts salt ,a[center]ncho ,chipolte ,guajillo ,black pepper ,white pepper ,cumin ,oregano ,and coriander . use less or more of mixture depending on how far north of the mason dixon line you are . I despise chili powder .

    Sounds good Iggy,

I South of the M/D line.
I put chili powder on popcorn.

My favorite food is "Chilis Toreados".
    That's a real tooth melter.

3 to 5 fresh "very hot" jallapeno peppers
roast in a dry skillet; sometimes a few drops of olive oil is ok.
Cook until the skin wrinkles, and peppers are hot (temp. wise)
then serve sliced into "coins" with lime juice and a touch of salt.
You'll break a sweat on the first bite, then hang on for the fun.
Tastes great and will melt your teeth.

Slice them in half long ways, remove the pit, sprinkle with a little salt and grab a spoon. DELIGHTFUL!

I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane.

I always either cut them in half and eat the halves raw, or I put hot salt on the flash, mash it up, and put it on a sandwich! Nothing special here!

Mason jars and bale top jars, mason jars and bale top jars.... that is all!
