I have to censor what I really want to say about this.

The guy is in St. Pete. Maybe I should knock on his door for an interview and bring pipes and tobacco with me.

You should do that! I can't believe this crap and I'm getting sick and tired of it!

A 25% tax is a huge killer, I hope they vote against it.

Next they will start over taxing corn cause people can walk out, grab a cob, turn it out and smoke a blunt or two. I used to do that crap and if it can hold it and burn it can be used to smoke it. Geez, when are these folks gonna get real and start doing the job they are asked to do. I could go into a huge political rant, but I will digress... for the moment!

This is never gonna stop. I hope everyone realizes that. Little by little. Brick by brick. Everyday we are losing more and more of our freedoms in this country due to taxation. It's a new era Gulag Archipelago. Coming to a state near you.

What really kills me about this is that this country started a revolution because they taxed tea!! And here we all sit. Taking it like good little comrades. The founders are rolling in their graves.

I don't know what to say, we need to start digging deeper in to the views of the politicians we elect. However I don't think that would do any good either, look at the current group of officials the American people have elected. These people are radicals that will stop at nothing less than a total "prohibition" so to speak of tobacco and any related items. Once they are done with that, who knows what's next. I read an article of the tactics Hitler used to persuade the German people and the similarities to what are government is currently doing. It's getting pretty messed up. We all need to make our voices heard by sending e-mails and letters to your current elected officials to let them know we will not stand for this.

I started to think for a second that Florida might not try to seriously pass something like this, but I guess my state is as dumb as all the others...

Surfmac, Its Fla today, tomorrow it will be Illinois etc........ Today its pipes they want to tax, tomorrow it will be lighters. It's not gonna stop at pipe tobacco or pipes. Trust me. When there's nothing left to tax they will start over, only increasing it. Look at what they have done to cigarette smokers besides treating them like lepers. I quit smoking cigarettes not because of health concerns, but because in Illinois a pack of cigarettes is near $8.00, over half is tax I believe. Sapo59 is right. We better start taking a better look at who we elect and then take a second closer look just to be sure.

This is so frickin' aggravating! If, right now, I type exactly what I'm thinking, I would be arrested. Soon, I'll bet, just thinking it will get me in a jam.

Careful Cortezattic. The Stalin Era Soviet Union DID have thought police. 10 years in a forced labor camp for thoughts against the state were very common. It's the truth. Its not so hard to believe that some form of that is not already here in the good old U. S. of A.

Some one needs to explain to these idiots that Orwell wrote 1984 as a cautionary tale, not as a user's manual.

If at first you don't succeed you are running about average.

Right oppie. When I hear of such outrageous assaults on our freedoms I become inflamed. So I did the right thing, I walked away from the keyboard and chilled-out with a bowl of tobacco. I wonder if our knucklehead politicians can see the irony in that.

What do we do? I vote, I write, I go to political gatherings, but it seems so useless sometimes.

I am growing my own tobacco and learning to make my own pipes. Not that I don't trust the government (YEAH RIGHT! ) , I just want a HUGE stash of smokes before they outlaw it all.
