It seems that a lot of members are having problems posting pictures. Most of these problems seem to be caused when trying to use pics from your Album in your profile.

Right now I am going to explain how to post pics using an alternative method.

    1) You need to sign up to a free picture hosting site such as Photobucket.com.
    2) Once you have an account, you can upload your pictures into your album there. You can go into your settings on Photobucket and set the size that you want them to upload as.
    3) Upload your pictures to your album in Photobucket.
    4) Once your pictures are uploaded, hover the cursor over the pic that you want to show in your post on PipesMagazine and a drop down box will pop up on that pic.
(In that drop down box there will be 4 code links. E-mail & IM, Direct Link, HTML Code, IMG Code).
    5) Copy the IMG Code link and paste the link into your post here.
    6) When you are finished writing your post and have pasted the IMG Code link, click the Send Post tab to submit your post and when it posts, your picture will be in it.

To post your pictures from your PipesMagazine album, do the following:

Go to your album and click on the picture that you would like to put into a post.

For Firefox - Right click on the picture and choose 'Copy Image Location'.

For Internet Explorer - Right click on the picture, click 'Properties', and then copy the 'Address URL'.

Go to the post and click the 'IMG' tab in the reply toolbar and copy the image location into the box. (I am not sure if the img box shows up on Internet Explorer)

There is a difference between Firefox and Internet Explorer. Just make sure that is at the end of the picture url. You DO NOT need to do this if you are using the link from Photobucket or another free picture hosting site.

OK, it seems that people are still having a lot of problems posting photos from their PipesMagazine.com album. Here are some pics that I hope will help make it easier for everyone.

These instructions are for the FIREFOX web browser.

    -----------

When you are on the Main Page (Home Page) of the site, put your cursor over the tab at the top of the screen that says "My Account".

When your cursor is placed on it, it will open a drop down menu.

In the drop down menu, place your cursor on "Album".

That will open up another menu that says "Pictures" and "Upload Picture".

    LEFT CLICK on "Pictures".

Once you do that, it will bring you to your PipesMagazine.com Photo Album that has the THUMBNAILS of your photos.

Once you are on that page, find the thumbnail of the photo that you want to post a pic of in the forums.

Once you find the thumbnail, LEFT CLICK on the pic of it.

That will bring you to the ACTUAL PHOTO of it in your album.

Once you are on the ACTUAL PHOTO of the pic, RIGHT CLICK on the photo to bring up a menu.

On that menu, LEFT CLICK the option that says "Copy Image Location", this will copy the URL of the photo.

Once you have done that, go into the forums and go to the thread where you want to post the photo.

Go to the "Post a Comment" or "Reply" box.

Once you are there, LEFT CLICK the IMG tab.

That will open up a box that will say "Enter The URL of the Image".

Paste the URL that you copied from your photo into the box.

LEFT CLICK on "OK" and that will put the entire code that you need into the post.

This is all you have to do. DO NOT ADD OR DELETE ANYTHING INSIDE OF THE BRACKETS [..] IN THE CODE LINE!

Type whatever text that you want to add in the post with the photo and when you are ready, LEFT CLICK the "Send Post" button.

Once you do that, your post will go through with the photo in it.

    ----------

This might sound like a lot of work or that it takes awhile to do, but it really isn't. Like all directions, it seems harder than it actually is.

    For Internet Explorer:

I do not have Internet Explorer on my computer, so I can not show you pics of what the screens look like. But that doesn't matter because it looks pretty much the same.

Follow all of the directions and photos that I have posted. The difference will be when you get to the ACTUAL PHOTO of your pic and RIGHT CLICK on it.

Once you right click on the photo, instead of clicking on "Copy Image Location", you will have to LEFT CLICK on "Properties" and then Copy the "Address URL".

So the change of directions for Internet Explorer will be like this:

RIGHT CLICK on the ACTUAL PHOTO of your pic.

    LEFT CLICK on "Properties"

    Copy the "Address URL"

After you have done that, go to the forums and continue following the above directions.

    OK Bob,

Since I can up load pictures to my Album in my profile. Why not make it possible to use that picture?

    Thanks, Marshall

    Hey Marshall,
    You can.
Open the photo in your album.
Right click on the photo and select "copy image address".
Then in the Posting box in the string where you want to post click on the "IMG" button, and paste the image address into the box.

Finish your post and click "Send Post".
    That'll work.

    Marshall,

As Lawrence has explained, you can use the photos from your PipesMagazine album. All of the instructions on how to do it are in my previous posts (posts 2, 3, and 4) in this very thread.

    Regards,

I'm trying to upload photos but photobucket is crap. Every photo I try to upload goes to 94% and then stops. Then it won't finish. I've tried to exit out, restart, etc. So I tried the other method which is to upload them to my album. Problem, I don't have an album and there are no other options under my account when I roll over it other than log out. When I click on my account It just reloads the home page. When I click on my profile on the left side I get a fail to load page and it says, the website declined to show this webpage. Can a mod help?

My computer is not an ancient machine '09 and I'm using Windows Vista. Any help is appreciated
