Something I didn't comment on about the new churchwarden (and maybe it's common practice/knowledge), but it also came with a standard length stem. Kinda like getting 2 pipes in 1!

BTW...lovin' it! Nice cool, smooth smoke! Noticed a lot more sweetness in the Cap't Black than I normally do.

    Bytor,

That is a sharp pipe, I don't think I've seen any HCA's that weren't. I do wonder though, does it gurgle with the longer stem?

I didn't seem to get any more gurgle than I normally would. As a bonus, I am able to pass a pipe cleaner all the way through by just putting the slightest bend at the end and with just a little twisting once I hit the shank.

    Sap:

While I fully support all PAD for my vicarious enjoyment, you could always buy a cob and a Churchwarden stem.

    Instant dual stem Churchwarden

Although I still think you need an HCA like Bytor's.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how high smokingpipes.com rates the condition of their estate pipes? It's pretty optimistic sometimes.

That rim is too messed up to be rating a 4.7 out of 5. Beautiful pipe though.

    Vitor,
    You own 2 Cavicchi's?
Very cool, where did you by them?
Did you get them from Claudio or Skip?
    Do you have pictures?
If so... please post them, I'd love to so them.

    Yeah good point Matt.

Bear is perhaps a bit bullish. Looks like the shank's been over buffed too in the second photo.

Here's my 2nd choice in the $150-200 from tonight's SP estates since I guess we're supposed to be Vitor's personal shoppers.

Since it's his money, this Mastro de Paja should do nicely. It weighs in at $112.50 and is brand spankin' new. The other pipes I like come in at $2 over the limit.

    Why thank you.

Funny thing is it sounds like something he'd say in a review of an estate.

Here is a nice looking Ardor and it is on sale for $200.00 at http://store.pipesandcigars.com/arpimebabi.html. If I had the money right now, I wouldn't be showing this one. I would be buying it!

You could also check out http://neatpipes.com/ . They have some great pipes there and their Luciano line is very nice with great prices.

Here is an estate Radice for $164.40 - http://neatpipes.com/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=322

Here is their Luciano line: http://neatpipes.com/store/pipemakers.asp?pmid=40&catid=50

    Bob,

You've got a Luciano, is it a great pipe? I've been looking at them for a little while and I'm getting good vibes.

One big selling point is the naked chamber. If a carver forgoes coating a bowl, I'm much more inclined to buy it. I do realize that it doesn't mean too awful much, since I have a Chacom that came that way and it isn't anything special.

Yes, I have a Luciano. Here it is:

It smokes great and didn't cost much. It was $106.00. I love it. It is light and smokes cool and dry. They are a great bargain and I wish I had more money right now to pick up a few more before they get more popular and the prices go up and/or become harder to get.

Luca at http://neatpipes.com/ is great to deal with. They have free shipping and it got to me from Italy very quickly as well.

    I gave in.

Bought the Pete 120 Aran P-Lip. Wanted the bigger bowl or I would have picked the 268 (Zulu).

    Yeah.

Been looking for a few days. I'm in love with the P Lip and wanted a decent "house"/ settle in and chill pipe to go with the Pete Tankard for a "public"/ shorter smoke pipe.

Gonna order a P lip stem for my cobs too.

$67 at either Pipes and Cigars and 4 Noggins and a dime cheaper at cupojoes.

I decided the service from Rich at 4 Noggins was worth the dime.

Run don't walk Uncle. Go pick the one you like!

Well when you get that cherry pipe made you can send that Pete to me so it does not go to waste .

    The Cherry replaces the cob.

So far the cob's got job security.
