Do you guys know that you can post pictures in your profile pages?
Here are some of my pipes.
http://pipesmagazine.com/members/admin/album/picture
I will be adding more pictures soon.
To do so, go to your own profile page.
1. Start at the home page: http://pipesmagazine.com/
2. Look at the top left of the screen in the grey bar for My Account
3. Mouse over it and select Album --> Upload Picture.
I know you can see the grey bar here in the forum, but for some reason it only shows logout when you are in the forums.

Great collection Chuck!
I also saw in one of your other posts that you are getting ready to buy a Peterson Samhain pipe. I have been debating on getting one as Samhian/Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year.
When you get it, post some pics of it. Try to get some close ups of the band when you do.

It's on order Bob. It'll be 6 to 10 weeks before I get it. I would have hoped Peterson's would have had it available before Holloween as Samhain represents the Festival of the Dead, aka Holloween.
-
Damn, I have a lot of catching up to do.
Nice collection Chuck.
-
6-10 weeks! I am pretty shocked at that as well.
I too would have that that they would have had them ready for the season.
-
I just bought this pipe earlier this week

chuckw,
Awesome collection! And so well organized too! Of all your pipes, can you identify your three best smokers?

Nice pipes Ghost and Phil!
-
ghost45, nice Canadian. Are you going to use a particular tobacco for the break-in?
-
I am breaking my new pipe in with McCranies Red Ribbon.

That sounds like a good choice. python favors Va.'s for the break-in also. I read where Mc's Red Ribbon is a very close match to my current fave, McClelland's 5100 Va. Red Cake -- altho I'm on this kick now where I'll only smoke Perique tobaccos during the break-in. At any rate, wishing many happy puffs with the new pipe; and if you go window-shopping, don't lean forward with that Canadian clenched in your teeth.

Very nice assortment of shapes and bowl sizes. That bent bulldog's a real eye-catcher! Thanks for posting the pix! Have you started to break-in that new Canadian yet? [edit] Oops! I just reviewed the shot of the bowl interior... I guess you have!

That bent bulldog's a real eye-catcher!
you like that it is a DR. Grabow.
-
I have no problem with Dr. Grabows. If it looks good, feels good, and smokes good, it is good.
And that 'dog would be right at home in my kennel!

I always love looking at pipe pictures. Those are real nice.

Here's a photo of the new (unused) Ropp I got off eBay this week (http://pipesmagazine.com/members/jcosmoasp/album/picture/169). I had a very pleasant smoke of Samuel Gawith Balkan Flake. Received the Savinelli Baronet Bruyere lumberman minutes ago, with a tin of Plum Cake, the aroma of which transported me to the 1960s. Can't wait to light up. More pics to follow of the lumberman and the Freehand cobber as well. Waiting on the next eBay Ropp, a tall, somewhat smaller version from Michigan.
All in all, the first real week of being back into the realm of pipes and great tobaccos after so much time could not have gone any better.
Bruce.
If you think you can or can't do something, you're right.

Wow, beautiful pipes Bruce!
-
Pipes with great character! And they all look like fun to smoke and tinker with.
Thanks for posting the pix, I appreciate the time and effort.
That freehand cob looks like it has a vulcanite stem. Is that right?

Thanks all, for the positive comments. I'm not certain what the stem is made of, cortezattic, but that seems right. It's not acrylic, for sure. It's a great smoking pipe for under $30US. The Ropp is a cool smoke, and the Savinelli draws very easy as well. So far, I'd have to say that my return to pipe smoking has been very gratifying.

ghost45 nice pipes. The stems look nice and clean I can't see thru my stems ,the tar etc.I tried strong booze but it didn't do much. Any tips? Thanks.
Power to the Pipe!!!

Sorry Brazz No Magic.
All of those pipes except for the Straight Corn Cob are under a year old.
-
Here's the latest Ropp I picked up on eBay late last week. It's a Ropp Alpine, and smokes cool and fairly long, for a smaller pipe. I like that the bowl is positioned under my face, for ease of lighting and maximum aroma intake. I think I'll fire it up right now!
Bruce.

Whoa! Pretty nifty Bruce. That's a nice hands-free shape too, with plenty of bite leverage. Great eBay score! Congrats.
(It's always great when there's a picture posted with the chatter; thanks, I appreciate the time you took to do that for us.)
Hmmm... let's see... If you get on it right now, your raw cherry stock might be ready for shaping by retirement time.

A large redwood limb came down near the house during yesterday's blow, and I cut some promising lengths from it. I sealed the ends with candle wax and put them up in the garage rafters. I know redwood has some fire resistance, but am unsure of it's suitability otherwise. I'll see to the cherry this weekend--the bow saw blade broke on the redwood and I'll need another. I've scouted some dwarf birches not far away for some stem material; I can cut those with a brush lopper.
