If you're serious about getting an ID on this pipe you will need to provide some useful information, such as any and all nomenclature stamped in the shank and/or stem and decent detailed pictures of the pipe from several angles, close ups and full pipe. Anything stamped on the band?
Looks like a French pipe, probably made in St. Claude.
Brass rather than copper band.

There are no marks and stamping on the pipe at all...to me seems like French pipe from 30s but who knows...Pipe was smoked a lot so stampings are worn out...looks a little like Peterson patent but no silver on it....Likely old La Bruyere pipe??
yes it is brass and my guess is ST .Claude as well...I may make a better pictures of it....Shape is so round that even Peterson Mark Twain looks square compare to this pipe
No sir,it is real horn stem with no metal parts in it...i just left the pipe at the restauration services for clean up and will take a better picture of it after Jan 1...
Horn is fragile and many times it will have a tenon of a different material. I've seen several horn stemmed ST Claude Bruyeres that had metal tenons and cork liners in the mortise.
this one is horn to wood connection no other materials like cork or metal inside...
May it be vintage Ropp?I am so ready to smoke it-love the shape...you do not see shape like this today anywhere...closest to it is maybe Peterson Mark Twain
Ropps are almost always stamped.
Yes, those stubby bent billiards with chubby shanks/stems are very engaging.
I also love short stubby straight billiards and apples with chubby shanks/stems.
I have a Peterson Short 03 which comes closest to this
This pipe was so loved that stamping is all gone...Interesting thing is that bowl is in such a great shape is unbelievable ..you see how much it was smoked but at the same time bowl looks great and no burn outs...Likely old quality briar been used...need to check out peterson short 03 to see ....
