    Newest Addition To The Jars

You spend 150$ on rare tobacco and it should definitely be in proper condition. Tinbids for the win. 🙂

    Newest Addition To The Jars

Have not had a chance to smoke a bowl of it yet. Hoping for that on Monday. 🙂

    Newest Addition To The Jars

Tin was bugling. Perfect condition inside. As it should be... Cheers!

    Tinbids Experiences?

Would be reluctant to say that is a problem specific to Tinbids, but yeah, that blows dude.

Has Peterson Quality Suffered in Recent Years?

So I have had the complete opposite experience. Every Laudisi Pete I have bought, I've gotten rid of. That includes x2 80's spigots. Numerous poor craftsmanship issues.

    From Tin To Jar

It's not a bad idea actually. You could always just leave it in the tin, and seal it in a a foodsaver vacc bag instead of jarring it at all. 🙂 For me, half the fun of collecting tobacco is jarring, then decorating my jars with labels, either ones printed or taken off the tin itself. My wife...

    Tinbids Experiences?

I've had plenty of good experiences buying on Tinbids. Selling is another matter... Have sold on Tinbids many times and it is highly frustrating. Primarily due to the following: 1) You MUST use their shipping labels or they get upset with you because their labels are prepaid and automatically...

    Need Some Advice, Please!

First, everyone here is addicted to nicotine, and that addiction does not manifest by just lighting up another tobacco product. Even if you only smoke one pipe a week, you look forward to that moment for many reasons. Physiologically you will not be addicted to tobacco after a week. The...

    From Tin To Jar

I actually will often seal old tins I buy in food safe bags. I double bag things. One bag that is sealed but not vacc'd, and then the next bag is vacc sealed. I do this often for Gawith tins as they are less reliable in their seals.

    From Tin To Jar

Yes, exactly. Moisture also and it will age well.

    From Tin To Jar

Was recently listening to an online pipe show and they discussed the topic of whether or not you should let the tobacco from your newly opened tin dry out to the best smokable condition before you jar it for future use. From a scientific perspective, tobacco does not age well after it is...

    Oldest Smoked Tobacco...

I will revise slightly what I said here. I bought dried out old tins of Blue Boar Rough Cut and Kentucky Club Mix in the distant past. Both dating back to the 1940's. They had to be rehydrated so they aren't really aged the same as good fully sealed aged tobacco is. There's no telling when...

    Estate Peterson Killarney 106 PLIP

If it bothers you enough I'd bring it up with the retailer you got it from and see if they are open to compromise. Have been collecting vintage estates and vintage tobaccos for many years, and finding a perfect estate is often hard to do. Honestly, it's a great looking pipe otherwise, and if...

    Oldest Smoked Tobacco...

Early 1980's Mac Baren Dark Twist from a perfect sealed tin. Still the most incredible tobacco I have in my jars.

    How to Restore Vintage Pipes?

Reborn Pipes is great. If nothing else just to read the stories they have posted. Lots of research.
