    Palate Refinement

That's a good idea..... would never have thought of that. Along that line, I can say that my favorite tobacco's are Virginias and VaPers and by smoking lots of them, yet from different manufacturers, I have probably seen most of my growth in this line.

    Palate Refinement

Thanks everyone. Each of you gave me a good tidbit to think about.

    Palate Refinement

I did a search on this matter but didn't see anything that really hit my target, but one of the things that I long for the most, in my pipe journey, is the refinement of my palate and the ability to pick out the subtle tones, tastes and flavors that I hear many refer to as they describe a blend...

    What is an Estate Pipe?

Based on how one uses a pipe, I suppose they did need to come up with a more appealing way to refer to a "used" one. I can see how this could be applied to other used "personal" items: Estate dentures Estate catheters Estate colostomy bags Estate dental floss Estate tooth brushes etc.

    How Much is Too Much?

Those Choctaws are quick learners..... You gotta love 'em. Given all of this build up, Jim, I have to ask, how many bowls do you smoke per day? I gots to know....

    How Much is Too Much?

You mean to say that Dawn dishwashing liquid is good for eczema, too??? Man, that stuff is in a category with duct tape and swiss army knives.....

    Folding And Stuffing Flakes

Good advice and thanks. I will practice it more and will pack with a "fervor."

Maintaining Vulcanite Stems in Canada and US!

Ironic that you use chap stick for the stems. I carry some with me as I use it when smoking a cigar as it is perfect for repairing a cigar that has a loose wrapper leaf trying to unravel. I'm starting to think chap stick has more uses than duct tape and Dawn dishwashing liquid.....

Hmmmm..... "pig shit....." Was that on the tin note or the room note?? :ROFLMAO: I have a cousin that might like that......

    One of My Favs

You got that right........ If it is "obsessive" then I've got it.......

    Folding And Stuffing Flakes

I have really tried to employ the "fold and stuff" method but the gaps and pockets do not make for a pleasant smoke either. Even if dry.... Furthermore, the tamping process is less than efficient with the stuffed flakes, at least I have found it so. Seems some portions are needing to be tamped...

    One of My Favs

You're right about the Orlik barely having perique. I try to coordinate my cellar jars by grouping them by type of tobacco (yes, I am a bit OCD). I have the Orlik in my Va's instead of the Vapers..... :col:

    One of My Favs

Thanks for this review as I love straight VA's. I love MacBaren's Virginia HH, both of the Capstan's (Blue & Yellow) and if you haven't tried Country Squire's Faulkner Flake, I suggest you grab some. I actually want to try FVF but have a terrible time finding it in stock. If anyone has...

    Jim's C&D Steamworks Small Batch 2024 Review.

I was actually coming onto the site to ask if anyone was familiar with this. So, I appreciate the review and comments. I notice that part of it's process is being "steamed." Could that addition of moisture have anything to do with the "mold stories" that you mention? It sounds interesting...

Pipes and Cigars Online Store. Never Again.

Probably ordered tobacco or cigars from them a half dozen times and never the first problem. Then again.... it is widely known that I live a charmed life.... :col:
