    Any Reviews of Finsbury Tobaccos?

Fair enough. Not that big of deal to me. Just found it curious there wasn’t much out there on them. At that price I’ll just grab a bag or 2 and see where they stand. Thanks everyone who replied!

    Any Reviews of Finsbury Tobaccos?

Comparing flavor lineups I agree with both of you. Funny how COJ didn’t show up in the searches. There were a few reviews on there which helped. I will say, Payless C&P has is for $18.99 which is much cheaper than COJ. Payless also carry the Smoker Friendly Premium blends that BriarLee is raving...

    Any Reviews of Finsbury Tobaccos?

I stumbled across the Finsbury brand recently and after searching this forum, TobaccoReviews, and Google I can’t seem to find any reviews of them. They are produced by Arango Cigars, so they appear to be from good stock. Anyone have any experience with them? Any flavor is fine…...

    Savinelli SL Series?

Well sounds like I’m on perhaps a fools errand here. I hope the answer won’t take months, but it might be worth it to add to the historical record for this forum. Thanks for the insight!

    Savinelli SL Series?

Just heard back from Savinelli…you may be right. They actually have no recent records for the SL series. Now asking for full photos to help track down the lineage. They suggest it may have been a special dealer run as well. I’ll update more when I get it.

    Savinelli SL Series?

At first I was a little dismayed that I couldn’t find anything on the SL. Now, I’m intrigued and hopeful it’s unique and not just a “basket pipe” grade. I have to say the grain is nice and few it any fills were noticed on either. Both stems had the same Savinelli crest stamped into them.

    Savinelli SL Series?

Thanks…I like your way of thinking. Gives me a path to track towards. I did hit up Pipephil, but nothing close other than the SLE.

    Savinelli SL Series?

I just picked up 2 Savinelli SL series pipes from a estate auction in Europe. I have done quite a bit of searching and can't find a "SL" series for Savinelli. The specific shapes are 622KS and the 616. Attached are photos of the stamps from each side of the 622KS. Any help is appreciated.

Patent Era Pete In Tough Shape!

😂😂😂 I was thinking along the same lines. Hell, nothing I do to her can come close to what’s already taken place by it’s former owners. A good cleaning, some pipe mud and see how she does. I’ve never smoked a 100+ year old briar before!

Totally agree! Shame someone didn’t take action on it when the cracks first developed. 🙈

Patent Era Pete In Tough Shape!

Well said sir. I have always had a pull towards pipes since I was in my teens. Only now as I approach 50, am I realizing how much personal history is locked in each estate briar. I have never bought a new pipe. I somehow never find one with as much character as the estates have. Thank you...

Patent Era Pete In Tough Shape!

i believe you and others might be right. I am contemplating giving it a good cleaning and a bit of a polish (careful not to remove the stamps) and call it a day. Might make for a good conversation piece in my office.

Patent Era Pete In Tough Shape!

I took a look at his projects using micro drills after you mentioned it. Not sure if that would work for these size cracks. I am wondering if there is a good way to soften the briar enough to "squeeze" the crack to get a pin to hold or ?
