Looking for a Work Horse Pipe
I use a couple cobs for this purpose and agree 100% with what you say. My "country gent" is my favorite for this type of thing. I just really want to add a few briars to the mix for work pipes.- PuffingWalrus

Self-sealing Mason Jar Lids
When dealing with bulk tobacco i always jar it but set it on my writing desk checking the seals every few days or so and the hard tightening the lids after a seal is made much like chasing embers said after the lids seal down the screw will be a bit loose so to say.- PuffingWalrus

Buying tobacco
I cant speak for other online retailers, but i know smokingpipses had a 10 tin limit. There limits are set for. 24 hours ("only 10 tins a day). The 24 hours never matter with those small batch realieces on account of the fact they are all gone in under 2.- PuffingWalrus

I mainly smoke Petersons and Savinellis both of which have coatings. I have never wiped them away, just broke them in with the normal fashion.
