Pick a blend that is well reviewed on Tobacco Reviews. Especially JimInks reviews. Pack and slowly slowly sip/savor the smoke and work hard trying to pick up what the reviewers got. Long Term Aging/Storage
The easy answer is mason jars. But they're bulky. I'm a big believer in vacuum sealed food bags - I got a vacuum sealer off ebay and I can easily store tins, boxes, loose bulk, anything. It's nice when you get a pound of flake in a cheap zip lock bag and you can just stick it in a vacuum bag...- rmcnabb

For some reason I no longer get a numeric alerts counter over the little "bell" icon in the upper right hand corner of the Forums page. I bought a lovely Bjarne Brebbia 925 off of ebay but it stunk to high heaven with some kind of incense essense. It wasn't Lakeland, I don't know what it was, but it was intolerable. So I tenatively decided to clean it with the salt and alcohol treatment you see advised. It worked perfectly... -

It's not too surprising to find sticks and stems in many bulk blends from bulk producers. Does this mean the tobacco is "poor quality"? I'm not sure.
