    Canada-USA Customs Question

Nothing. The random search got my heart going though.

    Canada-USA Customs Question

I thought I'd write a quick update now that I've gone over the border and back. I picked up three tins of tobacco in Post Falls, ID. Cornell & Diehl's White Label and Red Label, and GL Pease's Penny Farthing. I wanted to try a Virginia Perique, and the C&D was affordable. In total, I picked up...

    Canada-USA Customs Question

What do you use for tobacco? I've heard from someone else on the forums that they've had better luck with 4noggins.

    Canada-USA Customs Question

I got dinged $70 for 5 ounces after buying online from SP. Trying to avoid that again, although I know smaller orders have better odds of getting through.

    Canada-USA Customs Question

Yes, I sent them a message using their contact form. Will I hear back in time? Doubtful.

    Canada-USA Customs Question

That is indeed where I'm going. Not very much thought went into my username.

    Canada-USA Customs Question

I didn't know I could do that. This may be a good first step. I've just realized that I will still be hit with a special duty when reentering Canada -- $9.30 per 50g of unstamped tobacco if I'm reading this right. This will quickly add up with 400g, so it probably isn't worth going up to the...

    Canada-USA Customs Question

I still think they would be more concerned about the tobacco.

    Canada-USA Customs Question

Hopefully I'm in the right category, here. In a week, I'll be moving from BC to Saskatchewan, and I'll be driving through Washington, Idaho, and Montana to get there. On the way, I plan to buy 400g of pipe tobacco in Idaho (Post Falls), split between my wife and I to stay within the limit when...

New Pipe: Lorenzetti Augustus Caesar #47

Awesome. Yeah, I was struggling at first. The Lorenzetti requires me to be a bit more intentional with the draws than does my very open Grabow, but once I got that sorted it was a great smoke. I've heard of that syndrome -- pipe collector's syndrome. I've managed to avoid it by not having very...

New Pipe: Lorenzetti Augustus Caesar #47

When you said it was "too open" without the adapter, what happened? Tongue bite? I didn't have much more success without it. I may go down to Goodfellas to get some advice. Shouldn't be harder to smoke than an old Grabow.

New Pipe: Lorenzetti Augustus Caesar #47

Curious. My hope with my Lorenzetti is that, when well packed, it will stay lit even if I set it down for, say, thirty seconds or a minute. I've heard some pipes can stay lit for minutes without a draw. My Grabow stays lit as long as it's in my mouth, but as soon as I stop, it goes out and I...

New Pipe: Lorenzetti Augustus Caesar #47

All right. I just tested drawing on my Grabow and compared it to the Lorenzetti without the adaptor, and the Lorenzetti still seemed to have more resistance. I'll try without it first and see if there are problems, then adjust if needed. It could also be that I rushed the packing to try it out...
