***What Are You Smoking, February 2024?***

Finally opened it. I got an estate Dunhill Cumberland a couple weeks ago, cleaned it up, and decided it was time to open the 2017 FMC for its inaugural smoke. The pipe smoked very nicely, as expected. The tobacco was really nice, but not overwhelmingly nice. Until I smoked it again a couple...

    Sutliff Reserve Eastfarthing

It is not the same as Aromatic English. I have lots of both, and Aro English used to be my go-to, all-day smoke, but then I found Eastfarthing. Eastfarthing is Aromatic English squared. It's (in my opinion) tastier all around, and is now my all-day smoke. Amongst others. Boswell's...

Show Off Your Meerschaum Pipes Here!

Yeah, I looked at it for a couple months too. Then one night after some bourbon encouragement, I pulled the trigger.

My new S. Yanik. Larger than it looked online.

Jim's Sutliff Birds of a Feather Anomalous Review.

I'm mostly an "aro/English mashup" kind of guy, but this stuff is fantastic. My favorite of the Birds of a Feather releases so far. Wish I'd bought more. It's so complex and fun - you really get a mouthful of flavors that complement one another, and that spicy perique just tops it all off...

Sillem's Black in my trusty old Hilson Avanti.

    Stanwell Revival (124) 224

All my Stanwells are great smokers.

    Erik Nording Hunter Series

Yeah, my one Nording is an absolutely gorgeous churchwarden, but it smokes badly. Big gurgler. I smoke it once in a while anyway, using the driest tobacco I can, because it would be a crime not to smoke such a beautiful pipe, but I must admit, it has made me leery of buying more Nordings...

    What is Your Best Pipe?

Like many, my favorites tend to jump around a bit, and I have a soft spot for just about all of my 80ish pipes. But... There are a couple that would go in my pocket as I ran out of my burning house. My first Savinelli, an utterly boring little Extra 6013 (and one of my first restoration...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2022?***

Bengal Slices in a Kaywoodie Mandarin. Slowly, so the nic hit doesn't knock me down....

    Looking for a different flavor

I second Wilke Vermont Maple Cavendish. I also have a jar of 7 Seas Black, and like others have mentioned, though not maple, Cult Blood Red Moon is a must-try, if you in any way like aromatics.

    An Aromatic I Enjoy!!

For the cheap crap, maybe. But not the good stuff, in my opinion. The Wilke maple is an example. Cult Blood Red Moon smells like smashed sweet Maraschino cherries, but smokes/tastes far different, with really nice cavendish, virginia and burley tobacco at the fore (and the room note might get...

    How to Re-Hydrate Pipe Tobacco

I put a slice of bread in the jar. How big depends upon how dry it is. Couple days later, dry bread, rehydrated leaf.

How Latakia is Pronounced in Syria

My Latakia has one-wheel drive. And the windows don't roll down. Gets really smoky inside sometimes.

Show me your pipe repair station!

Wow! A pipe repair HOUSE! Love it. I also have one small bench "grinder" (polisher) not pictured, but just, wow. Clearly, I have a hobby. You have a calling.
