    Beat the Gurgling!! Here's how . . . . .

Tamp towards the draught-hole. Problem solved. It really is that simple, and was figured out long, long ago. I do that with my Petersons and at the end of each smoke, I'm left with ash and a few bits of tobacco...and, yes, the draught-holes are comically high. Give it a try.

Now that's a bargain! Well done!

    Pipe Tobacco Additives.

AFAIK, the site is long gone, but it's been years since I last looked. Regardless, at one time, the maker of such blends as Troost at the turn of the century (Rothmans-BAT, I believe) listed all the ingredients in each blend they produced. There was also similar info about the Mac Baren blends...

    Dunhill Pipes?

I was referring to me going into the Dunhill store as a customer. A customer wasn't just buying a pipe or tobacco, he was having a "smoking experience"!!! I will always remember the day I walked to the store to find that it was gone, replaced by a...Barbie store.

    The Moriaty Method Experiment 1

Ohhhh, boy! There's nothing I like better than some gimmick that promises a better smoke...even though I'm quite happy with a normal pipe. I'll remember to pop by my local gardening supplies shop. In case you think I'm being sarcastic, by weight, I'm sure my pipe collection is at least 30%...

    Show Us Your Falcons!

I feel your pain brother... I was innocently browsing eBay one fine day, and this lot fell into my cart, and ended up in my mailbox. I hate when that happens!!! At least I'll be ready should I ever need dentures.

    Dunhill Pipes?

I find this reply answers the question so well, might as lock the thread...lol, as if! Let's not forget that Alfred Dunhill was a salesman and promoter par excellence. He was able to sell the sizzle as well as an admittedly great steak. I recall going into the local (Toronto) Dunhill store long...

    Mac Baren Dark Twist

I've been a fan of all the Mac Baren twists I've tried. Each brings something different to the smoking experience, but, to my tastes, they are variations on a theme. If the price is a little daunting, pick up some of the Newminster #403 Slices. Also made by MB, I enjoy it fresh, and apparently...

    British Tobacconist’s Brand Pipes.

I have two of the Barber B-Line pipes. Can you tell I love a Lovat? I would have gotten more, but sadly Barber ships *nothing* to Canada or the US now. The quality far exceeds the price, at least with these two. The stems aren't hand-cut from rod vulcanite, but I find them clean and...

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

I have held onto four other Huybrechts; I've been quite pleased with them!

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

Yes. I believe that's the idea behind the Cavalier shape: to allow for quick and easy draining and cleaning. That lower piece is, much to my surprise, actually horn. A fair bit of work went into the pipe. I think Hacker got a bargain at £37.50 in 1991. I've had, decades ago, a couple of Dunhill...

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

Thought I should follow up on an earlier post...my Huybrecht Quaint for Richard Hacker arrived today; it's already had a couple of smokes through it, and they were great! I don't play in the big leagues, this purchase was a bit of a stretch, but I am now glad I got it. I'm happy to take care of...

    Danish Sir Walter Raleigh

I thought my question was sent to DK, I could be wrong. I'm thinking about sending an email to Smoking Pipes; obviously it's not their fault, but a big reseller might have a little more sway when dealing with a big company like STG.

    Danish Sir Walter Raleigh

Well, at least I got a response. Unfortunately, it was that, since I live in Canada, I should contact the Canadian branch of STG. However, since the Canadian branch of STG doesn't import SWR, I can guess what the response would be. Over to a willing US consumer 🤞🤞!

    Danish Sir Walter Raleigh

That might be a little cruel. After all, they do make Revor plug, and some really great MOB offerings available in Denmark. Or does that make it worse? They can do great things, they choose not to. Slightly more on topic: Thursday I sent them an email about this issue. I wonder if there will be...

    Irish Flake Match from Bulks!

GH Bosun. Let someone else do the hard work for you! I can't think of how the strength and flavour can be replicated otherwise, but I look forward to seeing the replies.

Scandinavian Tobacco Group; the party responsible for this debacle.

    Rlp-6 vs 7 seas regular

I'm not a big smoker of aros, but, when that itch needs scratching, it's MB 7 Seas for me. My reason is that I find that I get a bit more tobacco flavour while I smoke. To be fair, the difference isn't huge, but it is there. If someone came along and claimed exactly the opposite, I wouldn't...

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

Toronto...Canada. There was actually a shop in the city that would bring in Huybrecht pipes on an occasional basis. That shop is now condos...*sigh*

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

It's making its way to me now! I have several Huybrecht pipes that I quite like. And, in the dark ages, before the internet, before I discovered Tom Dunn's TPSE, Hacker's book was helpful in opening my eyes to the broader pipe smoking world. I'm looking forward to taking care of this pipe...
