    A Match or a Lighter?

No doubt. I only use the adjustable ones, the flame is much smaller than a standard bic on the lowest setting (which I will use in a pinch if neither matches nor grill lighter is available).

    First Pipe, Briar Or Cob?

I started with a briar basket pipe, and it's what I would recommend. I use my cobs as semi-disposable pipes and they smoke great, but there really isn't anything comparable to the feel and smell of warm briar.

    A Match or a Lighter?

Prefer matches, but also a fan of the long, grill lighters. Easy reach down in the bowl for relights. I don't smoke in public so who cares what it looks like.

    An Aromatic I Enjoy!!

Is revelation an aromatic? I guess there is some type of fruity topping there, but it's very tobacco forward.

    Question about 4noggins

Every order I have placed through them has been exceedingly slow. Even slower than {insert largest non-site-sponsor online tobacco store}, and that's saying something. If smokingpipes carries it, I buy through them exclusively now. Arrives in 2-3 days versus >1 week.

Overuse Of Acronyms Can Frustrate Newbies

Learning the lingo is one of the things that hooks me into a new hobby. Joining a new forum, seeing people posting new words and wondering "WTH does this mean" makes you dig deeper imo. You can search "{insert phrase here} site:pipesmagazine.com" on Google to figure most things out.

David McCullough Passed Away at Age 89.

Will be sorely missed. 1776 was one of the best reads I had in a long time.

    People Who Shorten Your Name

I stopped fighting that battle a long time ago. People screw my long name up, so I'm just rolling with the short version until I die I guess. What irks me are the older millennials, X-ers, and (certain) boomers who get peeved when you call them "Mr. {LastName}" or "Sir". Dang it, I'm southern...

    A New Sponsor - TINBIDS

Very interesting site, bookmarking. Will be keeping an eye on that site. Also, love this design style. An actually beautiful, snappy website without too much going on on the javascript front.

    Great Yarns Spoilt

Books aside. Man, they just don't make professions like whaling anymore. Sailing out to the middle of literal nowhere, to get in a tiny clinker-built whaleboat with the fellas, and attempting to poke a leviathan (that could kill you with one tail swipe) to death with some sticks.

What would be Your Favorite Unobtainable Unthought of Aromatic Flavors?

Still waiting for someone to make an aromatic out of my favorite poptart flavor.

    Opinions on Boswell’s Tobacco

Pennsylvania Dutch Treat is very good if you mix it 2:1 with leftover C&D Crooner. This also fixes the wetness and the nic problem.

    Health Concerns.

Of course not, there is something else going on with Type 1, along with the uptick of other youth illnesses. It's very concerning. Very sorry to hear that about your daughter. Just trying to make the point that if the "nail in the coffin" for the tobacco companies' was them admitting that not...

    Please Post Nostalgia Pipe Ads!

Saw this one in an old American Legion magazine. This issue (October 1952) also has an interview from Edward G. Robinson in it (about the HUAC fiasco and being duped by the Reds). Note about the tobacco, apparently Planta owns and still makes it? Though I couldn't find any US shops that carry...

    Straws As Dental Hygiene Implements

I picked up a set of dental hygienist tools at walgreens a while back, it contains the metal instruments (the things the hygienist tortures you with), but there is also a rubber "pick" in there. It's the best thing I've found for getting under the gums. I didn't get chewed out about flossing the...

    Health Concerns.

I really think the American public has traded down in the "Public Health Crisis" department. It's not a binary choice, but you don't see the FDA going after the soda and junk food companies when people choose sugar and polyunsaturated fats over having feet and not having to take perpetual...

***What Are You Smoking, July 2022?***

First pipeful in a while, took a health break. Having some EGR’s blend in a basket billiard.
