    Boswell Northwoods

I found the cut was hard to get lit. Kinda chunky. It was also a bit wet. But the flavour is good, consistent, and simple. Nothing too complex.

    How Much is Too Much?

I may have exaggerated. SIGNIFICANTLY reduces some factors rather.

    How Much is Too Much?

I might be wrong but I feel like there's so many factors involved with smoking pipe that it cannot possibly be compared to cigarette use. If you don't inhale that eliminates so many issues right there already. Smoking quality tobacco with no additives etc.

Pack and Tap: Is my Strange Way Wrong?

I sometimes stick a pipe cleaner in when I pack. All it takes is one silly little particle of tobacco to get sucked into the draft hole and your smoke is over. But again, this could be remedied by running a pipe cleaner through as soon as you notice

    Gurgles . . . . .

I find (as one gentleman had mentioned) that the more I smoke a pipe the drier it gets. The cake on the bowl must help some. A new pipe is always kinda wet for me anyways. I second the chamfer on the tenon. It stops the smoke from condensing at that spot.

    How Much is Too Much?

I realize there is so much good info here but heres my 2 cents. I smoke as much as it compliments my lifestyle. I don't want to be a person that can't be separated from my pipe, but I love what the pipe and tobacco add to my life. I don't want my life to be utterly consumed with it, but it is...

    There.. I did it.

I put aromatics or other wet tobaccos in a bowl under a desk lamp. It is surprising how fast the warmth from the lamp dries the tobacco. I have to watch that some stuff doesn't get crispy.

How Often Do You Smoke a Pipe?

The dopamine from doing such a simple, pleasurable and habitual activity is definitely "addicting" Our bodies like habit and routine.

I'm sorry, with all the usernames and being new to the forum it took me a bit to catch on to that. Mr sasquatch is from Alberta? 🤔

How Often Do You Smoke a Pipe?

I agree with many here in that the timing has to be right. I guess I'm not experienced enough to just light up a bowl anywhere anytime and relax. Usually weekends I'll have 4-6 bowls. Just easier if I'm not under pressure. Sometimes once or twice during the week if I'm feeling it.

    Looking for Pipemakers Nearby

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I'll give it a shot. I've been making pipes for a few years and I am not aware of anyone nearby that does the same thing. I am interested in meeting more experienced pipemakers and learning from them. If there is anyone remotely close to me I...

    Harbor Freight Buffing Wheel

Rustie is right about speed. I use 4 inch wheels on my 3000 rpm bench grinder. Works great. Only thing about small wheels for me is that the shaft gets in the way due to the smaller wheel diameter.

    Harbor Freight Buffing Wheel

Mine is 3500 but my wheels are 4 inch. Interesting. I'll have to get another wheel. Thanks!

    Harbor Freight Buffing Wheel

This is with old pipes then? When I make a new pipe I always polish it, then wax. I guess I would polish the pipe, then wax, then polish the wax?

    Harbor Freight Buffing Wheel

The beall buffing system is what I use. It comes in 4 inch or 8 inch I believe. I ordered it online for less that 100$
