Chicago Pipe Show was Epic! Here's the 2024 Report

The Chicago pipe show is back with a vengeance!. This year we had a pipe smoking TV celebrity in attendance, new management at Kaywoodie was announced, more people attended than last year, it's Sutliff's 175th anniversary, Missouri Meerschaum's 155th anniversary, and there was high drama at The Battle of the Briar.

A true lattice of coincidence, since going through all of the old detectives series on BritBox i started watching some Murder, She Wrote (not even in the same league as the Brit shows) but one of the episodes I watched last night had J. Goldsmith as a guest star!

Well written, and a nice smattering of interests covered. Had a lot of fun the two I attended. 1st show in 2007, Brad Pohlman sold me a 1/4 bent bullcap he called The Colonel. A beautiful dark blast.

Next show, Bill Furbaugh (Kaywoodie) had a modern recreation of my favorite shape, a 99b. Superb smoker. Bill is such a good guy.

Hope to make next years show, possibly Richmond or Columbus this year.

I have reached an age and health condition where attending a pipe show that distance from me is beyond me. I loved going to Chicago when I was able to. It was the cat's meow.
