Cleaning the Old Boy

Hey folks, I have a two year old Ill Corona Old Boy. It has been a sweet lighter ever since I got it. However a good part of the lighter (mostly the top) is covered in black junk, which looks like carbon build up.

Does anyone know how to get rid of that?

I tried alcohol and a baking soda solution. Neither worked.

I use a brass brush, though mine is stainless steel.
