I’m trying to find out about the OD stamping on this one. It’s a 1984. Anyone come across one?

Well, I've never seen one in "the briar", but have seen something similar in shape.
The OD designates Own Design. This was used in the early days. Here's what I found on Pipedia...
O.D. "own design" - Denotes a pipe designed by the customer and carved to order. "O.D." stamped on shank. Not made after late 1920's or early 1930's. In 1950 a special series of "ODA" pipes was begun and continued through 1975. These were not carved to order.
Which doesn't meet with your 1984 pipe. Are you sure its a 1984 pipe?
The reason I ask that, is if using the "newer" dating from 1960, the 14 would date it as 1974.
Sorry I don't have much else, but will keep looking.
