I don't know much about specific pipe makers yet, but at least I know which shapes I like, so I'd have:

2 straight billiards,
1 Canadian/Bing style
2 apples (bent and straight)
1 bulldog
1 poker

All filterless, medium size, smooth, dark brown, with black, strictly acrylic stems. No markings, metal parts, or any bowl gimmicks. I am boring AF, I get that but what can I do!?

Two of mine are cobs as well, so I guess that would leave me the opportunity to swap them for something fancier. Not sure what that would be at the moment though. Probably a meerschaum for one of them.
I just decided that the other cob replacement would a poker of some sort. Have always wanted a pipe of that shape.

Here we go:

Top row, left to right:

Larsen pearl grade sitter (unsmoked)
Teddy Knudsen bent Dublin (unsmoked and not sure if I'll ever smoke this one)
Doug Finlay Danish canted egg (my best VaPer and aro pipe)

Middle:

Ismail Celebi skull with tentacles meerschaum (had to have at least one meer)

Bottom row, left to right:

Savinelli Autograph Mignon pot (small but absolutely perfect strong blend smoker)
Silver Gray canoe (fantastic all around pipe)
Sabina Santos morta dog anniversary pipe (another fantastic all around pipe)

Only seven pipes? Not going to happen. I could maybe get down to 14 and even then I would have to say goodbye to an Ascorti, a Rinaldo, a Preben Holm and a couple of good meerschaums.

Ok, here's my 7:

1. Dunhill Shell Briar 4103
2. Stanwell 95 Amber (may have the best grain of any pipe I own. Birdseye bottom, staight flame up to a birdseye rim...sitting on closeout at my local B&M for $30 unsmoked).
3. Reiner XL Rusticated freehand
4. Hardcastle Sandblast (my Lakeland pipe)
5 &6. Peterson Year 2000 Limited Edition (straight and bent brandy)
7. Talbert Ligne Bretagne Billiard

That leaves behind about 25 other pipes, and I'd honestly miss having any cobs about.

I like your thought process! That would have made it a lot easier for me to decide.

I could easily get down to 70. 7 would be a lot harder as I have spent over a decade finding some of my favorite shapes and markers. Sometimes I wish I was the type to just want a select few but I've got the tastes and the means so I'll just learn to live with myself. :sher:

If i could only have 7 pipes...
1. MM corn cob
2. MM Little devil Corn cob
3. Jamestowne Clay pipe
4. Morgan Stubby Anse
5. Morgan’s ONE poker
6. Savinelli Series III bent
7. Whatever pipe me great-grandfather would’ve smoked his PA out of

I’m a newb still and I may not have a collection but I only really wish for those. So far I’ve gotten the first 4. My overall goal was to stay minimal in quantity while being as diverse in selection as possible.

Doubt I will find/figure out what my great grandfather used so probably will end up using the 7th space for some kind of churchwarden!

Only 7????? Awww, man you're KILLING ME....

If I HAD to narrow it down to 7, I suppose it would be these 7 (and a Lee von Erck I would hide in my pocket...)

Left side from the top:

T- Dunhill, Root Briar Dead Root *
M- Ardor Fantasy Drip Wax with Cafe' au Lait bent stem in Sterling with Lapis accent
B- S. Bang Kobenhavn UN Autograph, with a 360 ring grain, made by Ulf and sandblasted by Per. Does it GET any better than that? :) puffy

Middle
Another S. Bang (although I might leave this one for the Lee von Erck..) sporting some beautiful Bird's eye. This Bang was made when they were still (kinda) factory pipes and not made by one of 2...

Right side from the top:

T- Gilo Blowfish pipe by Darko Milovanovic. Birds eye everywhere! looks good. Feels good and smokes near perfectly.
M- Bruce Weaver flame grain brandy bowl with a slanted top, married to a 3 knuckle bamboo shank
B- Castello "Castello" KKKK Squat Tomato that ALMOST smokes itself.

IMG_4020 (1).jpg
I have a few others that I would hate to see go such as a Nanna Ivarsson (that will probably NEVER have ash in it)
and all my Savinelli 320 KS pipes ( LOVE those smokers!) but these are my final choices...

Huh... Now that I look at these, 4 of them are from FishnBanjo's Estate. Santos had Great taste.
