I am sure we have all had the problem with magnification when trying to read lightly stamped or worn maker names and logos. Two hand hold to keep steady, proper light angle ext. Just bought an old watchmaker - jeweler work bench lighted lens. The heavy base Bausch & Lomb make was modified to hold a mini mag lite and is adjustable for any angle. Works great but the best part was it cost $5 at a lawn sale. Nice to win for a change.

what I did not say is that this type of magnifying glass, by having the distance between the objective and the lens fixed, guarantees the correct focus. It is called a thread count magnifying glass and it is to verify the quality of a fabric.
We use that same loop for looking at print quality.
