R.I.P. Bernard Hill.

Sad news to hear of Bernard Hill's passing today aged 79.

He was a brilliant actor and narrator of documentaries. He first came to notice as the much troubled Yosser Hughes in the gritty drama Boys From The Blackstuff. If you've never seen it I can highly recommend it, it was hugely popular over here.

He had many roles in a variety of films & dramas and he'll be greatly missed.

I didn't see him in Titanic but loved his portrayal of Theoden, the King of the Rohirrim.

Saw that earlier. I forgot how much he was in. One of these actors that just pops up in films.
Seaman Cole in The Bounty. That's a film I really like.

I really enjoyed his narration on various documentaries.

Only Bernard Hill could make the story of the Indian railway system interesting. Any other person narrating it and I'd switch off after 5 minutes.
