Hello Everyone,

I recently picked up some old tobacco and wondering what everyone thinks. I think it's pretty old and well aged, should I smoke it? I'm assuming being in a foil pack it should be okay but no clue what the pack looks like with it being still sealed with the cellophane wrapper. Unless someone has any more information to dial in the date from the tobacco stamp, I think it's from between 1956 to 1980s (To me it looks more like 80s style packaging)? based on what I found from Reddit and another forum here based on the following information:

Carter Hall originated by R J Reynolds 56-87, production started August 13, 1956 - sold to Middleton in 1987
if bar code, then from early 80s at the absolute latest
first scanned bar code was June 26, 1974 and took years to become normal

What do you people think? Does tobacco this old smoke well, would the foil hold up, should I keep it as is???

We can't tell where you are located. You need to update your profile. I guess you're in Canada. I'd smoke it but it will last quite a while if you don't.
