I’m interested in try 7 Seas Pipe Tobacco but I don’t know which one to try first. Can anyone tell me how each one taste different from another?

Never tried CB, but the word is out there that MB's 7 Seas series are the counteroffer to CB's. Hence the same nautical theme, tin colours, and low pricing. I reckon MB's offerings are superior to the OTCs, though.

They both taste like hot air. Honestly. I love Mac Baren as a brand but the 7 seas line is garbage!

The regular and the Royal seem to be the most popular.
But I like the black the best. Its a Cavendish made with Virginia and has an Amaretto, Chocolate, Vanilla flavour.
However I think "Macbarens Original Choice" beats them all puffy
It also has black Cavendish made with Virginia.
Very complex dark flavour with simply the best aroma.
I get fruit, vanilla, caramel and licorice
Also the after taste stays with you and clings to you.
I find it smokes best in my 9mm charcoal filter pipes.
Its my most smoked aromatic blend followed by Lanes RLP-6.

Is 7 Seas Regular Blend similar to Captain Black Original? Which one of the 7 Seas is sweeter?

The flavor profiles are supposed to be somewhat similar. The colors are the representations of each other (ie: Captain Black White - 7 Seas White etc.).

I much prefer Mac Baren 7 Seas over Captain Black. 7 Seas has a deeper, richer, more natural flavor to me than Captain Black.

In my early (aromatic) days I tried all the 7 Seas tins. Royal was by far my favorite.
Definitely let them dry out a good deal, they'll smoke much better. You won't lose much of the flavor at all.

Tim,
I agree. Original Choice is a FAR superior product.
Why would you want something to mimic Captain Black?

And I’m pretty sure Mac Baren 7 Seas is less messy and wet when finished.
