Timely Seasonal Surprise Gift from Nature

[Chasing Embers]

A fast growing large vine with green leaves made itself at home under my front bay window over the past couple of weeks. Out of curiosity I allowed it to survive lawn maintenance and the blooms this morning revealed what I suspected it to be.

I planted pumpkins this year for the first time. I had six at one point, but ended up with four.

I always hesitate to pull anything until I can confirm rather it’s something I want for this reason. Have to love the gifts of nature!

I live in a part of Las Vegas that has underground springs that run on the sheets of caliche (natures cement) and have lost three trees I paid good money for. The groundwater drowns them.

Lo and behold, volunteer palm trees have arisen from the ashes. They are gorgeous and growing like crazy.

I have to admit. I don’t think of Las Vegas and plants drowning in the same thought lol. Looks amazing!
