    First Commission Arrived

My wife saw a YouTube video with the owner/carver of Frassati pipes and she asked me if I had one of his ppes. I said, no I didn't and she said to ask if he could do a commission. Well, 6 moths later and several emails (very easy process) I got the following in my mail. It smokes great!

    You People

You people and your fancy Meerschaum Coloring post.... UGH Now you made me get this. I'll post real pics when it gets here!

    New Pipe (aka PAD Continues)

I was wasting time on Instagram (as usual) and saw an available pipe from BJV Pipes (UK) that was just posted. I like his styling and stem work, so jumped over to his website and was able to snag it! I apparently got it just before several other people went looking for it - luck day! It's a...

Any Good Shops in the Lincoln, NE Area?

My son will be going to grad school in Lincoln and we will be moving him out there in July. Any good B&M's in the area I should check out?

    Looking For Empty BoF Tins

OK - I know this will sound like I have a run away fever, but please read on. I know most of us here buy multiple tins when we order. I am looking for empty (!!) tins of the first 3 Stufliff Birds of a Feather series (Uno, Whimsical, and Aberrant) :eek:as my wife is an avid bird watcher and...

    New Pipe For IPSD!

I had been looking at the pipes @alaskanpiper posts and really liked his SmithHouse pipes. Well... there was a sale, and no self control... I pulled the trigger on this beauty. I'll post more pics when I get it in hand.

What're You Making for Superbowl Snacks

My neighbor is making pizza and various tacos. I am smoking 3 racks of baby back ribs. My neighbor works in the restaurant industry and will have 20 lbs of wings. So I'm going to do some smoked wings, Jamaican Jerk, a dry rub and standard buffalo style. Going to be eating well!

Two New Pipes Just Added To The "Collection"

We were travelling through North Myrtle Beach a few weeks back and stopped by Low Country Pipe and Cigar (SPC brick and mortar). My wife said "go ahead and get a new pipe". Whaaaa... OK! So I found a nice Savenelli (my first Sav) 904. And just one week later I saw the new Barling pipes on...

    Any Love for Penny Farthing?

I'm about half way through a tin of GLP Penny Farthing. I came into this tin with no expectations as I have not seen a lot about the blend. Well, I'm liking it quite a bit. The shag cut is a nice change and packs nice. It smokes faster than ribbon cut which is nice when I don't have a full hour...

New Pipe From Forum Maker shikano53

I was reading a thread on the forum and found shikano53 was a pipe maker and had his own website. I decided to check it out, I mean who doesn't like to look at pipes... even though I was not in the market for a new pipe (hahaha.) Well... PAD kicks in hard. He had a nice bent dublin with a...

    Butera's Royal Vintage Sweet Cavendish

Well... Looking thorough an old box, I stumbled across an unopened tin of Butera's Royal Vintage Sweet Cavendish. It has a little bulge but not bad. So when I looked at the bottom I saw this... Vintage 1997! I never got around to trying this. I know it hasn't been produced in a while...

Haunted Bookshop - Love Or Hate...

I see that Haunted Bookshop is a very divisive blend. Why is this? What do you love about HB? What do you dislike about HB?

    New Fauxpont

With all of the lighter chat, I decided to get a Chinese ST Dupont clone. It took about 3 weeks to get here and I got it yesterday. It's a hefty lighter and I like that! After getting it filled, it has worked perfectly every time. Lights on the first spark. So far I'm quite pleased with my $35...

    I Trusted you Guys

Well, I read all the positive talk about C&D Pegasus on here and thought it sounded pretty good. Especially since I'm starting to get more into burley blends. I trusted the forum consensus and against my better judgement ordered 8oz of Pegasus last week. Last night I dried it out for about 30...

    Selected Straight Grain Basket Pipe

Here is one of the first pipes I purchased back in the early 90's at a local Tinderbox. It was a basket pipe, but the grain was amazing. The stem is not vulcanite and has France stamped into the shank end. Only other markings are Selected Straight Grain and the number 64. Enjoy!

    Bahn Mi

Here is my latest obsession - Vietnamese Bahn Mi sandwich. This one is pork loin.

    Pig Roast

My neighbor asked if I would cook a pig for his birthday if he supplied the pig, cooker and beer... DUH! YES! Being in Eastern NC, whole hog with vinegar sauce!

    How Cold Is Too Cold?

For those of us that are exiled (self or otherwise) to smoke outside, how clod is too cold? I'm good down to about 45F (7C) if the wind is not blowing. If the wind picks up, it's anybody's guess at that point.

    Local Find!

I stopped by the local B&M to grab a cigar for a cookout. They only have about 3 or 4 varieties of tinned pipe tobacco, so I just took a quick look not expecting to see anything I wanted. But wait... just one tin.

Did You Like Burley From The Start?

I am getting back into pipe smoking after a 20 year hiatus. I have primarily smoked VaPers, Straight Virginias and English/Balkan blends. I bought some C&D Haunted Bookshop (had good reviews, etc.) but did not care for it very much. I also have several other blends that are burley based...
