    Anise/licorice Italian Cigars?

I see a few of you have experience with the dry Italian cigars. I’ve had exactly one regular Parodi. How do you feel about the flavored ones? Specifically the anise flavored ones? I love War Horse and I feel like these could be the cigar equivalent. Am I on the right track? Any specific brands...

    Help with this Stanwell

Hi all, I stole picked up this sweet, unsmoked Stanwell at the St.Louis pipe show over the weekend. It has the engraving badge like a pipe of the year but no engraving. Was that common? I’m assuming it’s pre-2010 because it says Made in Denmark. Anything else you can tell me about it...

    Pleasant Surprise-20th Anniversary Tin

I stopped in at Missouri Meerschaum today and was surprised to see this tin on the shelf. I figured this would be my only chance to try it so I passed on a bunch of other great tins and brought this home. I plan to smoke a little and jar the rest, maybe share some with a buddy. Any opinions on...

School Me on Dunhill London Mixture

I picked up a tin of Dunhill London Mixture at a B&M today. When I search online, it always says it’s not available. Is this still being produced and who’s making it now? STG?

    Smoking 69 Year Old Tobacco

I bought this full one pound tin at an antique store for 6 bucks. I don’t have any clue who made it or what blend it might be. The only markings are the cancellation stamp and the bottom marking, both stating this tobacco came from “Factory no. 16” in West Virginia. The Cancellation stamp is...

    Favorite Oriental Forward Blend?

I recently picked up an ounce of an Oriental blend that my local tobacconist (over 100 years in business) blends up in house and I can’t stop smoking it. It’s basically described as Orientals and Maryland leaf. Do you have a favorite Oriental blend that I should try? Specifically without Latakia.

    Pipe Smoking Six Months On

Title edited. Rule 9. Well it’s been 6 months since I’ve started smoking a pipe and I have to say thank you to all the kind folks here for the advice and generosity I’ve received. I’ve learned so much in this short time, I’ve met some cool people, several makers including Scott Thile(!) and...

    Question About War Horse Blends

For those of you who have smoked the War Horse blends how would you compare War Horse green to the red? The main comparisons that I have found are that the red is decidedly stronger and less aromatic. Have you found that to be the case? Is it worth trying both? I have a sample of War Horse...

    Made a Rack

I kept acquiring pipes with nowhere to keep them so I threw this together yesterday from some old hardwood drawer sides and copper I had lying around. Will probably add some cork to the holes soon. This should work…for now.

Cracked Shank- Can it be Fixed?

I picked this pipe up for $1 on the off chance that this crack is fixable. Any good ideas or techniques to make this work? I tried closing it up with a clamp just to see if it would work but it’s not happening. Shorten it into a nose-warmer perhaps??

    Help Identifying Tin

Hi all, I found this tin at an antique store but can’t really find any identifying marks other that Factory no. 16. The cancellation stamp says Factory no. 16 Dist. of W. VA. December 1953. Plus there is the warning on the bottom of the tin. Any ideas?

    Local Carnauba Source?

Are there any types of local establishments that sell pure carnauba or is it mainly an internet purchase?

    What Blend do You Hate?

Title edited. Rule 9. I know tastes are varied and extremely personal but I’m just curious if there is a blend that you’ve tried that you just absolutely couldn’t stand. In my short time smoking I’ve tried a lot of different blends thanks to a slight obsession and some generous folks and the...

I’m only a couple of months into smoking a pipe and I’m trying to explore different tobaccos and discover what I really like but this hobby can expensive real quick! Weird Pipe Restore

I received this pipe in a lot that someone local was giving away. I asked about the pipe on a couple of forums and the consensus is nobody knows what the heck this thing is. It’s marked “LUCERNA 95” on the bottom of the shank and has an ST on the top of the stem. It might be French…or...
