I finally decided to quit being lazy and get my Gawith and SPC stuff mylar’d up for the long haul today. I used gusset 7”x5”x3” 7 mil bags from discountmylar.com and I have to say, they work perfectly. The square tins fit like a glove.

I divided the big SPC tins into 2 oz. portions to keep the stash fresh while I smoke through it at my glacial pace.

The monster special reserve brownies I did have to chop in half, but I have no plan to resell any of it, so no worries there. I used clean gloves for all tobacco handling as well as teasing the bags open to get everything in.

To seal the bags I simply used a hair straightener set to 400F, only letting it sit in one place for 1-2 seconds.

Finally, for the labels I found a free template online and tweaked it to my liking and printed them out at home on adhesive label paper. It was quite labor-intensive to sit and cut them all out, but I’m pretty tickled with how they turned out.

All in all I am extremely pleased with the results. Highly recommend Mylar for all those pesky tins that won’t keep forever ?

You are much more meticulous than I! Where did the labels come from? Looks great!
Thank you, sir! I got the label from a site called canva.com if I remember correctly. They have a few free templates that are super intuitive to tweak right on the site, and probably tons more if you want to pay for them. I saved as a .png, cropped it, uploaded into google docs, then resized so I could get 6 per page. I believe the site offers printing services for a fee, but I’m cheap and didn’t want to pay for something I could do at home.

What sealer do you use? I might give this a go.
