Aging Lancer Slices

Anyone aged this one for a while? Curious as to when it reaches its peak. I have about 1/4 lb jarred. It has a little over a year on it now.

I have a pound that has been in a jar for a few years. I may have to break some out tomorrow and see. I've been wanting to do a comparison with Penzance. I remember thinking the last time I smoked LS that it was similar to Penzance.

I’ve got a pile of it put up, and will probably never smoke it.
I’ll tell you it’s still pretty damned nice at around 10 years, which is the last time I tried it.

Just finished a jar that was 4 years old. It was quite good and I didn't care for it much when I first bought it.

I have a jar with 8 years. It’s much better aged than fresh in my opinion. I doesn’t taste like hair on fire

It looks like a few of us aging this but, not tapping into our stash, yet.

Jarred since Feb 2011...usually a cooler/colder weather choice for me and steady in the rotation. When I first tried it, there were a lot of elbows and knees. Meaning it was a bit sharp to me. Bordered on the nearly acrid and simultaneously sweet as I recall.

However, after about the two year mark, it started to age well. In the current state, the once stand-out latakia mellowed a bit and is now out-standing and the Virginias (really quality stuff) matured well. Now, it's nicely balanced. Only two jars left.

Yeah, I figured with a few years on it, the Lat would tone down and let the Virginia take the spotlight.
