Beginner needle rasps?

Any suggestions for beginner needle rasp recommendations? I see very wide variety of surfaces, sizes and shapes.

What do you need them for? Steel? Wood? Soft metals? Plastic?Then can advise further on what to get.

Let’s say for acrylic and vulcanite, that is, pipe stems.

Ok so then you will want something with a nice soft grip handle and nicely fine etched teeth, in between jewellers files and machine files. Something like this set .
