Chivas Century of Malts

This Scotch was a beauty. A wonderful blend of 100 single malts. I bought this bottle back in 2003 and brought it out whenever my beloved UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams won a National Championship. It’s come out 14 times since then and it’s now empty. What an incredible run!

The only Chivas Scotch I've had is the Chivas Regal and that blend punches way above its weight.

It was special. Smooth as silk, complex, with just a hint of peat. Oddly enough, I have never had the Chivas 12. Someone gifted a bottle of the Chivas 18 a long time ago and I probably didn't appreciate it enough. I'm going to give the 12 a try.

This weekend, I was at a friend's house who made me Mexican Old Fashioned, which was made with Mezcal, but had a splash of an Islay for smokiness. It was really good, although bitters tend to make me sick feeling if I have had more than a few drops. I'm not sure what bitters is supposed to add that's positive. I would probably like Old Fashions better if they didn't have any.

I think I have a bottle of Chivas Regal that's been sitting around for something like 25 years. Wife doesn't like Chivas and I don't like scotch.
