I love this. I’m actually surprised there aren’t more people trying this form or pipe making. Might be a good niche for pipe makers to stake out.

Oliver Meeson mentioned in the article, he has a website.

Hmm, I wonder if he is the last clay tobacco pipemaker in Britain? 🤔

BBC article on Oliver Meeson.

WOW clay pipe making is listed as an Endangered Craft in the UK! 😲

I don’t think people are out there paying good money for clay pipes. I imagine if you aren’t making and selling in reasonable sized batches, it would be hard to make any money.

I can’t wait to try a Clarin clay pipe, and I hope their business does good.

@PipeIT I'd love to meet him - and maybe have a go at making a clay!

I sent Oliver an email, and received a reply back today.

I am indeed still making pipes and I can post the U.S. however the cost of such is quite high. There should be photos on my website, ojmeeson-pipemaker.co.uk, prices are £3.50 for Prince of Wales bubble pipe, £5 for thorn, briar, rustic, RAF gremlin, basket weave, hoof, £8.50 for Derry and £7.50 for 17th century. I have attached some of the photos of the pipes in the order I have mentioned.

@PipeIT Love them! If I was in the Sealed Knot the 17th Century pipes would be my pipe of choice!
