This Dorchester had what I can only imagine were two ink stains on the bottom of it. Like someone had it in their shirt pocket with a leaky ink pen. The stains were large, jet black, and would NOT sand out. So the only thing I could do was make the whole pipe match the stains.

Now it’s ready for a night out on the town in tails and tie.

This is an elegant result.
I have a 1907 Barling bulldog with the same issue, some ink stains on the bottom of the bowl. I've just decided to accept them as a part of the pipe's history.
