Comoy's Oil Cured?

I picked up some sweet estate pipes today but most curious was this Comoy's Oil Cured. I have not seen this mark and can't find much on it. I was also wondering about the "J" stamp on the back. Any info would be appreciated.

Comoys was rumored to oil-cure some pipes (I think there is a thread on this somewhere).
I have not seen a Comoys stamped "oil cured". It is a Cadogan era piece, they did some odd stampings and line deviations after the merger. That is a neat find!

This is really interesting. I have never seen a Comoy pipe stamped "oil-cured" before. I have heard of these but believed them to be as mythical as unicorns.
Al, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "Cadogan-era" piece. Can you elucidate?

This one was recently sold by ShinyPipes, so of course it's way overbuffed, but it's interesting, has an additional 5 stamp and what appears to be a letter on the shank bottom...

By Cadogan era, I meant in the 1980's, as the C stem logo appears to be stamped. GBD also came out some with odd, seemingly one-off lines as well during this time, with odd shape numbers and letter stamps, etc.

Similar to this logo, from the Shiny Pipes stem.
