Sorry about the breakage. That type of Meer is susceptible to temp extremes. The block meers I smoke in colder weather with no problems.
As mentioned an inner tube is the fix. Meer absorbs a lot, but actually a white glue with the inner tube would be my fix. Also any kind of clear ca. the chunks will bind to the tube, and the material itself.

Love the band on the new one. What’s up with the shank wrinkles?
it looks like a really bad attempt at rustication. The band is sweet thought it doesn't have any stampage on it like "925" or anything like that. I don't doubt that it's silver. Either way it doesn't really matter to me. If I were to post a picture of the new pipe's shank, we'd all have a good laugh at it. For the record, neither pipe is pressed meer, just lower quality block. My tekin is probably a quarter of the weight of these pipes while being comparable in size.
