I have a couple of these Brigham tools that I like quite a bit, but when traveling by air, nothing beats a golf tee or a pipe nail, along with a bic. Makes your pipe case a little more TSA friendly.

I guess they took the ad down... too bad. Someone put an old, ratty, Czech pipe tool on Facebook Marketplace for $25 plus shipping. I couldn't resist, I sent them an email saying that if they wanted to go into business, I would sell them 20 new ones for $100. (I wasn't kidding) For some reason they didn't answer. 
I use a brass casing because I have a few that I won’t reload. Will probably have to dispose of them if I ever go in a government building.

Same here. For whatever reason, I like to palm the two tools I'm not using.
If you open a Czech tool and put it in your fist with the pick sticking out between your index and middle finger, you have a pretty good emergency weapon.

Could happen. I once had a TSA agent take a cork screw from my luggage. What did he think? Was I going to screw the pilot to death?
I like mine tighter. I spread it out in an equidistant-ish Y-shape so I don't have to flip anything out to use it, just spin it in my hand to the spoon or pick if I need it, then spin back to the tamper.
