On the web I've been able to find 3, 6 & 9mm pipe filters. For most metal filter pipes--my experience--it would take a 4-5mm cylinder filter for stem use once the metal unit is removed.

Any forum members have successful experience making your own filters? Other strategies for adapting non filter pipes?

My Grandfather's old Willard has the screw-in stem, and it originally had a stinger. Far too small for a filter, but I twisted a piece of tissue paper and slid that in and it works for certain blends that tend to smoke a little moist.
