Dr Grabow Bent Adjustomatic Missing

I put this together over the years on a whim. The Criteria, must be an adjustomatic, must be unsmoked or immaculate when I acquire, no metal ferrules or visible metal, smooth outer bowl. It has also morphed into a straight and bent 5v5. As you can see, I am missing one bent pipe to complete the 10 day set.

I thought it might be fun to throw around some shape ideas for the last spot. If not, i get to show off these beauties. I have no history on them, no dating, no idea about much really. I do know the briar is as good as any and they all smoke pipe tobacco.

Today we tend to consider Grabows as cheap, serviceable pipes.

But in the late fifties and early sixties Grabow sold “ten dollar grade” pipes which competed directly with Kaywoodie and Lee and Weber as top end factory American pipes.

The Adjustomatic stem joining fitment was patented in 1949.



An expert can rebuild it, or replace it, but mine have given no trouble.
