From memory I’m going to say “London Pipe Company”, but I’ll look through my stuff to confirm.

I really enjoy how this pipe has been branded to mimic the nomenclature of Loewe

Thank you, sir. I have perused the web a bit, but found no reference to a London Pipe Company yet. Of course, I might be looking in the wrong places ;)

That was from a run of pipes made for the Liverpool Pipe Club's 10th anniversary celebration held on August 5th, 1911. Forty were made, and they were distributed by Simon Lewis the proprietor of the One Legged Duck where the meeting was held. Famed pipe repair specialist, Sir George Dibos was also on hand.

Burton Smith won the impromptu slow smoking contest that transpired, with a time of fifty minutes, four seconds. Henry walker came in second, and Paul Harris was third. (no times listed for them)

John Reed's wife showed up a little after nine and caught William Payne with another woman, and led him from the pub by his ear after addressing Ellen (no last name found in the record) concerning what would happen if she ever caught her touching William again.

7.8 ounces of English blends were smoked that night, and just under four ounces of a straight Virginia.

Just after eleven, there was a small commotion when somone twisted his ankle as he stepped through the door to enter the pub, and Arthur Chapman thought a fight had started and had to be restrained by his friends.

That's all I can find at first look---my apologies for such a cursory glance at the history of the LPC brand---but I promised my wife I'd join her for dinner shortly, so will have to resume my research tomorrow and should have more information then.

That's my best John Guss imitation... how did I do?

Hahaha... I was so confused until I read the last sentence in 4 point font.

The PipesMagazine Supremely Evil Edit Lockout Monster From Hell strikes again.

The date in the first sentence was supposed to be 1911, not 2011.

Now the (attempted) humor is lost to confusion...

Kevin --- will a bribe get rid of it? A secret subscription fee? It drives me absolutely nuts.

Whereas I thought you got confused with the Tim’s mark for “Lomprey’s Pipe Collection” which emerged around 2011.

Dammit.

I just now read PAST the 2011 to 1911 fix, and saw the, um, enhancement.

You are even more evil than The Edit Lockout Monster, Mr. Jones.

This board is getting to be too much for my delicate sensibilities. First thing I saw today was the stubborn-for-the-sake-of-it hostile BS directed at GH&Co, then the drain in my basement backed up, then the house next door had a patio party with some loud kids, then my missed edit, now this: a mod giving as good as he gets (with Kevin's blessing, no doubt).

I need to take a nap, and I've only been up six hours.

Whippersnappers. Whippersnappers everywhere...
