This was interesting. The charity organization seller listed this Ashton seven-day pipe box with the initials MCO on the case:

And five silver-banded pipes with the MCO initials. They also listed several other Ashtons, but they weren't banded.
I hope the same buyer won the box and pipes (not sure why you would want the box if you didn't have the pipes)

MCO smoked them pretty hard!

As you say, I really hope they went to the same buyer. Strange they chose to sell them separately. I wonder who MCO was!

A Barling's with a rare stamp.
Serious coin for a poorly topped pipe with a ruined stem.

There were a few bidding on it. I think it was described pretty well?

I’m unsurprised. A Barling Birds Eye is rare indeed, and if you want one you pretty much have to pounce when opportunity offers.

Considering the US Design Patent 98046 stamp on the stem this pipe was presumably made between early January of 1936 and early January of 1950.

This 8-Dot did well, and is in very good condition.

I thought this one might have gone higher:

Indeed. The overall shape and stepped tenon design (?!) are unique in my experience.

For reasons unknown, 800 series Comoy's have never performed well as estates.

It's a legit mystery. They are really nice designs, jumbo sized, and well executed.

Need to check my Comoy's to be sure, but I believe I own a 804 Extraordinaire.
Bough it for 10,00 on a Dutch auction site. The largest bent billiard in my collection.
I do not understand either; to me the design and execution are perfect.

I never spent so much coin on estate pipes as on the, possibly unsmoked, cased Charatan Super pipes
and when I hit the key on the last third second my heart was racing.
All things considered I bought them for a song .

Having missed out on two (or three) 800s in the last two years, hopefully the third time’s the charm. My fear now, is losing this to eBay Global Shipping. Fingers crossed.

It’s coming to you through Global Shipping? Ugh.

It’ll be listed as drug paraphernalia and confiscated.

Oh man, I hope yours slips through the cracks, but realistically, expect your refund.

One of the big sellers said that the Global Shipping was eliminated or changed significantly

Honestly , I don’t trust what any seller says. As a buyer I’ve been burned by that garbage dump.

I purchased a pipe two months ago that I wasn’t concerned if it was confiscated. Just a nice little Peterson to test the waters.

Well, it got confiscated and I received a refund.

I’m a sub sample of one. Anything of value I use cutouts and intermediaries
