Just ran across this product. I have used JB Weld for years with success. The claims are this clear product is specifically for glass, ceramic, and ACRYLIC... Perhaps this would work on acrylic stems - I'm gonna get some and try it.

It’s just epoxy. I much prefer this stuff.
