Hello all,

I inherited a pipe cabinet from my great grandfather in 2009 and I'm just now getting around to doing something with it. It's neat and definitely older than I am (34), but I was hoping someone could help me date it.
I intend to keep it and use it, maybe sand it and refinish it?

Attached are some photos. Hopefully you guys have more knowledge than I do.

First, don't refinish it yet as you might destroy its value. Dust it first then wash it down with a mild solution of Murphy's oil soap on a damp rag. See how it looks. Then try a mild wax/polishing solution. See how it looks. Work up slowly. You can get an amber piece of plastic or plexiglass to put behind those doors as well. I have a bookcase like that.

Ha! Thanks for the advice. I kind of got a wild hair and already sanded part of it. No matter what it would have been worth, I'll never sell it.
I am curious how old it may be though. Google yielded no results.

Haha, well at only 34, it's old to me. This thing was hanging on the wall when I was wee and it was old then!
There are smaller table top Lord Chesterfield pipe stands with glass jars that sell for about $35.00 and I believe one said made in Taiwan. You can do further research. Its a very nice piece and I would think farely rare because of its size and wall mount. You don't see many items like it today. I'm sure you and your heirs will cherish it.
