Anybody have any experience with Manelli pipes? I saw one comment saying they look cheap but nobody who’s actually handled or smoked one. Thoughts?

I don't know Manelli pipes. Good pipes at entry level prices, to me, include Dr. Grabow, lower end Stanwell, Kaywoodie briar if you can find them, Chacom, BC, and Genod, for examples. Those last three are French pipes which are notably above their price level in quality (by my account). Missouri Meerschaum corncob pipes, especially the ones with acrylic stems, are easy to smoke and durable. The acrylic stem versions cost a little more but are still under thirty bucks. Minelli may be fine, but I'd tend toward better known brands. My sister sent me a Gianni, probably an Italian pipe, from Rotterdam, which I don't believe is sold in the U.S., or not much. It's a full bent smooth billiard that takes a pipe cleaner through the airway to the bowl, and is a fine little smoker, so some unknown brands can be good.
