Hi everyone,

I was wondering how to remove soot/burning trace from the rim of the meerschaum pipe.
I was thinking of using a 2000 sand paper, but thinking twice before maintaining this meerschaum.

Yep. You can remove it, but it’ll be back.

If it really bothers you a wipe with a damp cloth after each smoke will keep it at bay but won’t eliminate it.

Yes, spit and a dish rag works! There is some scientific evidence why spit works but that's not in my league. However, you may rub off the wax finish. I agree with the others, just leave it.
