Your New Year's joint of beef would enjoy being paired with this fine wine. Perhaps a toast to Tom would be in order.

I was in the Army when the Smothers were riding high. Never got into them once I got out.

I enjoyed his and his brother's comedy with my grandparents.

Most of us can only wish we had his yo-yo skills.

If anyone remembers Pat Paulson, Smothers Brothers' resident comedian, who ran for president, I was assigned as his guide/security when he "campaigned" in Anchorage. Funny man. What you saw on TV was ... Paulson in real life. A weird, hilarious sense of life.

Well where ever we go when we die just got a little funnier. I remember ignoring the Smothers Brothers for a long time. They seemed like one of those things old farts liked and when I finally saw them on t.v. I realized that they were a lot more playfully subversive and sharp then played themselves as.
